CTV’s flagship national political affairs program Question Period returns for an unprecedented 45th season, premiering Sunday, Sept. 6 on CTV, CTV News Channel, CTV GO, and CTV News GO. Hosted by CTV News’ multiple award-winning journalist Robert Fife, the weekly political journal of record for Canadians delivers a thorough examination of what’s happening in Canadian politics, and engaging in an incisive weekly political conversation with viewers across the country. With its trademark analysis of the latest stories from Parliament Hill and a look at the agenda for the coming week,

Based in Ottawa, Fife is also CTV News’ Ottawa Bureau Chief, as well as Executive Producer of both Question Period and CTV’s daily political show, Power Play with Don Martin. With more than 35 years covering national politics, Fife continues to uphold his longstanding track record of breaking some of Canada’s biggest political stories, including uncovering the recent Canadian Senate expense scandal. His tireless work breaking the scandal earned him some of the highest accolades in professional journalism, including top investigative journalism prizes in 2024 from the prestigious Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), including the Dan MacArthur and Ron Laidlaw Awards. Fife was also awarded the Don McGillivray Award for Investigative Journalism, top prize among all recipients in the investigative categories of the 2024 Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) Awards. That same year, he was honoured with CAJ awards in the “Open Broadcast News” and “Scoop” categories.
