Food Network Canada Provides Content for Facebook Community Page Takeover

    Food Network Canada is bringing a taste of Canada to the world with its first-ever takeover of 'Food on Facebook', the social media network's official food community. This delectable one-day domination of 'Food on Facebook' heats up at 12pm ET/9am PT today, Thursday, February 25. This supersized initiative pairs Food Network Canada's premium content with Facebook's premiere platform to deliver tasty tidbits of original Canadian content to food lovers around the world.

    Aptly titled "Food on Facebook," the community page shares the innovative ways the food world is using the social network's community to connect globally with gourmands. During the one-day takeover, Food Network Canada will release a range of new short-form web-exclusive content featuring the country's top culinary talent, bite-sized food fact videos, exclusive recipe videos inspired by popular Canadian dishes, and the world premiere of Food Network Canada's new digital miniseries, Neighbourhood Eats.

    "With the biggest names and the best recipes, Food Network Canada is the ultimate destination for all things food," said Christine Shipton,Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Shaw Media. "This takeover gives us a global platform to engage a broad audience with our dynamic range of quality, short-form Canadian content."

    In each episode of the new web series, Neighbourhood Eats, a Food Network Canada star or food influencer takes viewers to their favourite local eateries giving food-focused tours of their neighbourhood. In the premiere episode, Noah Cappe, host of Carnival Eats and Food Network Canada's Great Canadian Cookbook, is in Toronto's Annex neighbourhood exploring his go-to restaurants, talking with chefs, and sharing his must-eat menu items from each locale. After the premiere on Facebook, the episode will be available to watch on FoodNetwork.ca. New episodes of Neighbourhood Eats will premiere exclusively on FoodNetwork.ca at a later date.

     To showcase more  Canadian cuisine, the takeover will also feature clips of the best moments from the homegrown docuseries Food Network Canada's Great Canadian Cookbook and fan-favourite series, You Gotta Eat Here!, which celebrates its Season 5 premiere on Friday, February 26.
