Global News is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Ellis as News Director for Global Regina. Ellis will assume his position at Global Regina beginning January 16th, 2024.
Currently an online producer for Global Edmonton, Ryan returns to the Regina newsroom where he began as a reporter in 2024, and later took on additional duties as weekend anchor. Ellis moved to Global Edmonton in 2024 and distinguished himself as a writer, reporter, backup anchor and show producer. Earlier this year, Ryan extended his news expertise by seamlessly transitioning into the online team. Raised in Saskatoon, he holds a journalism degree from the University of Regina.

Reporting to Regional Director of News Ian Haysom, and working under the guidance of Regina Station Manager Mitch Bozak, Ellis replaces former News Director Brent Williamson, who has moved to Global Winnipeg to become its new News Director and Station Manager.
