First-run, programming from HBO and Showtime, available in Canada exclusively on The Movie Network (Eastern Canada), Movie Central (Western Canada), and HBO Canada, continues to lead the television industry with 124 Primetime Emmy nominations, as was announced earlier today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Highlights for HBO, which received the most nominations of any network for the 15th year a row, include: 24 nominations for Game of Thrones; 13 nominations for Olive Kitteridge; 12 nominations for Bessie; 10 nominations for Boardwalk Empier; and nine nominations for Veep. Highlights for Showtime programming include lead acting nominations from series Ray Donovan, Nurse Jackie, Shameless, House of Lies, and Episodes along with additional nominations for Masters of Sex and Penny Dreadful. The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards air live, Sunday, Sept. 20 exclusively on CTV.
In Eastern Canada, Emmy-nominated HBO and Showtime programming is currently available on TMN GO, TMN OnDemand, and HBO Canada OnDemand. Emmy-nominated Showtime series Ray Donovan, Nurse Jackie and Penny Dreadful are also available on CraveTV as part of The Showtime Collection.
