New studio! New series! New hosts!  MTV christens its new HD studio with the launch of the brand new, flagship series MTV Showtown, airing Monday–Thursday at 11 p.m., beginning Feb. 5. The launch of the new daily comedy talk series leads a series of changes for MTV’s suite of original, in-house Canadian series. Produced from MTV’s new 299 Queen St. West studio in Toronto, MTV Showtown brings together an ensemble cast led by the latest addition to the MTV team, comedian Graham Chittenden. Holding court with Chittenden is MTV’s trusted trio of fan faves Nicole Holness, Paul Lemieux, and Sheena Snively.

“Irreverent, funny, smart and accessible, MTV Showtown is MTV’s nightly connection to the discussion of the day, said Neil Staite, Vice-President and General Manager, Music and Entertainment, Bell Media. “Late night snacking will never be the same as Graham and the team deliver MTV’s answer to late night with interviews, debates, and comedic wit found only on MTV.”

Additionally, returning with all-new episodes tonight is fan-favourite 1 Girl 5 Gays (Jan. 18). Host Aliya-Jasmine says goodbye to 1G5G as she passes her stack of 20 questions about life, love, and sex to new host, Lauren Collins. Best known as Paige Michalchuk on DeGrassi, Collins takes the lead of the hit series Fridays  starting Feb. 22.

The rejuvenated and reenergized weekly series MTV NEWS, debuts in its new timeslot Tuesday nights, beginning Feb. 5. This 30-minute magazine features MTV personalities Aliya-Jasmine Sovani and Sharlene Chiu along with contributing producers Brian Gasparek and Sam Sutherland, who scour the universe to deliver the most coveted interviews and the latest news on anything that that matters in music.

Matt Wells joins MTV as the new host of Movie Night, now airing Thursdays, just in time for the weekend. Movie buffs can still get their flicks fix with this popular weekly series, in which Wells and producer Rich Wilkinson hit the hottest red carpet premieres and sit down with the biggest movie stars. Wells injects his intimate pop culture knowledge to Movie Night, bringing viewers the latest news on the most talked about movies.

Finally, MTV Creeps is back for a second season on Thursday, Feb. 14  as the panel of three regular judges, or “Creepers,” scrutinize the lives of three social media addicts.
