Rogers Media Announces Executive Appointments

    Dale Hooper, Senior Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, Rogers Media Inc., today announced two key appointments: Gavin Roth as Vice-President of Multiplatform Sales, and the expanded portfolio of Mitch Dent, Executive Vice-President of Sales, Rogers TV. 

    In this newly-created role, Roth will be responsible for providing strategic account leadership for all of Rogers Media, with a strong focus on developing cross-platform sales initiatives across multiple brands.

    Reporting to Hooper and effective January 30, Roth joins the outstanding team of Rogers Media division sales leaders, with whom he will work collaboratively to deliver best-in-class solutions for clients.  Roth will also work alongside the newly-formed Rogers Media Client Solutions division to provide business-building multiplatform solutions and strategies to best serve Rogers Media's advertising clients.

    Roth has nearly 20 years of experience in the sports, entertainment, sales and marketing industries.  Prior to joining Rogers Media, Roth was Vice-President of Sales at Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, where he led the national sales team in delivering creative and integrated marketing and media solutions for a robust group of brands for the Vancouver 2024 Olympic Winter Games and the upcoming London 2024 Olympic Games.  Roth also spent five years with the CFL and five years with World Wrestling Entertainment in a variety of senior marketing and sales positions, with an additional six years of agency experience between Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO's GeneratorIdeaWorks.

    As part of the evolution of Rogers Media's integrated sales philosophy, Dent will continue to lead the sales division for Citytv and OMNI Television, and has now assumed responsibility for Sportsnet and Specialty Television sales.  Reporting to Scott Moore, President of Broadcast, Rogers Media, and effective immediately, Dent's new role brings together the entire television sales force to best serve clients and maximize Rogers Media's overall television advertising share. 

    Dent has been with Rogers Media for 13 years.  Prior to his current position, Dent was President of Today's Parent Group when it was acquired by Rogers Publishing in 1999 and soon thereafter was appointed Senior Vice-President of Sales, Consumer Publications, overseeing sales initiatives for leading brands, including Maclean's, Chatelaine, Flare and Canadian Business.  With more than 30 years in the sales, media and financial industries, Dent also had roles of increasing responsibility with Procter & Gamble and Digital Media Networks.
