Shaw Media Announces Sponsorships for Donut Showdown

The countdown to Canada’s newest, high stakes original competition series Donut Showdown is on and today Shaw Media announced that Bounty and Tim Hortons have signed on as official sponsors. The partnerships developed with Bounty and Tim Hortons are innovative unions resulting in seamless integrations that will offer all parties the opportunity to reach an expansive audience throughout the run of the series. Donut Showdown premieres Tuesday, April 2  on Food Network Canada.

“Donut Showdown’s exciting, culinary competition based format provides unique opportunities to integrate our partners in ways that will provide them with tremendous visibility,” says Errol Da-Re, Senior Vice President of Sales for Shaw Media. “The synergies between our brands will help both sponsors reach consumers in new and innovative ways, through a variety of platforms, and ultimately add remarkable value to the show.”

As Presenting Sponsor and Official Sponsor of Spills in the series, Bounty will gain significant exposure in-show and online through:

· In-show integrations including Bounty Select-a-Size paper towel dispensers at chefs’ prep stations and dispensers for the new Bounty Duratowels at washing stations

· A 15-second custom “Bounty Mess of the Week” spot appearing in each episode and on other Shaw Media networks

· Bounty branded, downloadable recipe booklet featuring donut recipes from Donut Showdown competitors made available on foodnetwork.ca and promoted on Bounty’s website

· Tagged promos running on Food Network Canada leading up to launch and through the run of the series

Donut Showdown welcomes Tim Hortons on board as the Official Coffee Supplier reaching consumers in every episode and in-store through:

· Branded coffee mugs on the judges table and a Tim Hortons coffee station in the Stew Room where the chefs congregate while awaiting their fate

· Tim Hortons will also have an exciting themed challenge in one of the episodes, airing May 7th with the winner of the elimination challenge receiving $10,000 courtesy of Tim Hortons

· Tagged promos running on Food Network Canada leading up to launch of the show and through the run of the series

Hosted by international food television sensation Danny Boome (Recipe Rehab, The Chew), Donut Showdown is a half-hour competition show that takes the iconic donut to epicurean heights. Each episode sees three of the best donut makers from across North America face off in creating a batch of donuts featuring three surprise ingredients. Head judge David Rocco (David Rocco’s Amalfi Getaway) is joined by fellow esteemed judges culinary expert Maggie McKeown (Recipe to Riches) and popular Toronto restaurateur Zane Caplansky (Caplansky’s Delicatessen) in determining who is sent home leaving two contenders to duke it out in a themed challenge that sends one lucky winner home with $10,000.
