SiriusXM Canada, launches its third annual Canada's Next Top Comic contest which is set to give one lucky Canadian a chance at comedic stardom.

"Canada has many funny comedians working hard to get discovered, but landing that first big break is tough and that is why this year SiriusXM is travelling to eight major cities across the country to find the best comedic talent," said Jeff Leake, Programming Director, SiriusXM Canada.  "Each year we build on the success of the previous one and grow this contest because we are committed to cultivating unique Canadian entertainment content, supporting the vibrant Canadian comedy community and providing our listeners with the emerging Canadian content they have come to expect from us."

SiriusXM Canada is hitting the road in September, visiting eight cities across the country to discover Canada's next comic superstar.  The winner will take home a cash prize of $10,000 which will be awarded at a gala event on November 14 in Toronto.

Ten finalists will be chosen - one from each city as selected by the public and two wild card entries selected by SiriusXM's panel of judges.  Each finalist will receive a $1,000 travel grant provided by SiriusXM to travel to Toronto and compete live at the November 14 Canada's Next Top Comic gala where the winner will be announced. SiriusXM listeners can also catch the gala performance on its Laugh Attack channel.

The gala will be hosted by Matt O'Brien, last year's Canada's Next Top Comic winner who has had a very busy year since achieving the honour.
