Space congratulates Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany on her first-ever Primetime Emmy Award nomination, as announced this morning by The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The star of the hit Space original series, from Temple Street Productions, and produced in partnership with BBC America, was honoured for her critically-acclaimed work in Orphan Black, with a nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category alongside heavy-hitters Claire Danes (Homeland), Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), and Robin Wright (House of Cards).

“This nomination is a true testament to Tatiana Maslany’s spectacular work in her multiple roles on Orphan Black” said Tracey Pearce, Senior Vice-President, Specialty and Pay, Bell Media. “Her transcending performances have resonated with both critics and fans alike, we couldn’t think of anyone more well-deserving of this nomination. Congratulations!”

Maslany has amazed audiences by portraying ten distinct clones, including Sarah Manning, Alison Hendrix, Cosima Niehaus, Helena, Rachel Duncan, Beth Childs, Katja Obinger, Jennifer Fitzsimmons, Tony Sawicki, and Krystal Goderitch. Aside from her most recent Emmy nomination, Maslany’s accolades include two Critics' Choice Television Awards for Best Dramatic Actress (2013, 2024), a Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama (2013), a EWwy Award for Best Actress (2013) from Entertainment Weekly readers, two consecutive Canadian Screen Awards for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Dramatic Role (2014, 2024), and a Gracie Award for Outstanding Female Actor in A Breakthrough Role (2014).
