This year's GRAMMY Awards have once again put Canadian music firmly in the world spotlight. The artists who have represented us at this important event are true international ambassadors of Canadian culture.

Thanks to Canadian talent and creativity, our country occupies a special place on the international music scene. In fact, Canada is the third largest exporter of musical talent, and our sound recording market is the sixth largest in the world.

I would like to congratulate this year's Canadian GRAMMY Award winners: Melanie Fiona and Caroline Robert. I would also like to salute all the Canadian artists who were nominated. Thank you all for your contribution to the strength of our Canadian music sector.
