TELUS today launched Multi-View on Optik TV allowing customers to keep up with all the action and watch up to four channels at once on the same screen.

"Multi-View on Optik is the perfect addition for anyone who wants to see what's happening on your favourite channels without having to switch back and forth," said David Fuller, Chief Marketing Officer at TELUS. "Multi-View will definitely be put to good use by our customers, especially the TV fans who can't get enough of great sports coverage this summer. They can follow four events or games simultaneously then quickly jump to the full screen when the action picks up. Multitasking has never been easier."

With Multi-View, one channel is displayed in the main window with audio, at the same time as three other programs are displayed in smaller windows. The app is easy to use, allows an Optik Customer to switch between shows quickly, and allows you to choose new shows to add to personal themed lists of favourite programming such as Sports, Kids, News, or Movies.

TELUS has also launched The Weather Network app on Optik TV, making it easier for users to check the weather conditions for any city at any time. Customers can view both short and long term weather forecasts, weather alerts and keep up with current weather conditions for up to 10 cities. You can even track the pollen forecast during prime hay fever season, or check out ski conditions for select mountains - including number of runs and lifts open, snow depth, and snow reports.

Multi-View and The Weather Network app are available to all Optik TV customers at no additional charge. However, subscription to Optik High Speed is required to make use of the Weather Network app.

Optik TV provides never before seen functionality and features as well as more than 500 channels, including more than 100 in High Definition. Optik TV is an IPTV based service and features applications like Facebook and remote record, an application that allows subscribers to manage their PVR recordings from any Internet connection or select smartphones. One PVR is all you need to enable every digital box in your home with the ability to pause, rewind and replay live TV, schedule recordings, access existing recordings, and pause a show in one room and pick it up in another room from the same spot.

With Optik TV, TELUS customers can even use their Xbox 360 as a digital television box. TELUS is the first TV provider in the world to offer voice and gesture navigation on both live and recorded TV, via an advanced version of Optik TV for Xbox 360 which takes advantage of Xbox's Kinect sensor. In addition, TELUS' Optik TV subscribers can now also enjoy a new application called Optik on the go, which allows customers to view a selection of TV On Demand shows and movies on their mobile devices, tablets and laptops, at home and on the move.
