The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announces the first Canadian Screen Week, a six day event featuring awards, an industry event run by the Banff World Media Festival (“BANFF Industry Day”), nominee reception in partnership with the Canadian Film Centre and the return of In Studio, all culminating in the inaugural Canadian Screen Awards 2-Hour Live Broadcast Gala Sunday March 3, 2013 on CBC, hosted by Canada’s king of comedy Martin Short.
“Canadian Screen Week represents the future of our three converging industries of film, television and digital media. We will celebrate and explore how it will be a game changer,” says Academy CEO Helga Stephenson.
“With Canadian Screen Week, the Academy is putting Canadian film, television and digital media in the spotlight for the public and providing our members and partners across the industry with an unparalleled networking and business forum,” says Academy Chair Martin Katz.
