Minnedosa gets award-winning MTS Ultimate TV service and very high-speed
Internet
MINNEDOSA, MB, Nov. 23, 2012 /CNW/ - MTS is pleased to celebrate the
launch of the MTS FiON® Network in Minnedosa, Manitoba. The MTS FiON Network uses
fibre-to-the-home technology to provide customers with the most
advanced telecommunication services MTS currently offers, including its
innovative MTS Ultimate TV service.
"MTS is excited to bring state-of-the-art telecom services to
Minnedosa," said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. "About one third of
Minnedosa residents now have access to MTS Ultimate TV and some of the
fastest Internet speeds in Manitoba, and we plan to bring these
services to most of Minnedosa by the end of next spring."
The launch of MTS's fibre optic network offers Minnedosa residents one
of Canada's most feature rich television services, MTS Ultimate TV.
With over 110 HD channels and the Whole Home PVR that lets viewers
pause and rewind live TV from any room in the house, MTS Ultimate TV is
changing the way people watch TV. This service also features a wide
variety of informative and entertaining apps, an extensive line-up of
over 350 digital TV and music channels, and access to Video on Demand
and Pay-Per-View events.
The MTS FiON Network also supports an exciting suite of high-speed
Internet products including three new high-speed Internet plans. With
download speeds of up to 250 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 30 Mbps,
these very high-speed Internet plans offer unlimited usage and are
exclusive to communities where MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network.
"We are delighted that MTS has made this substantial investment in our
community," said Mayor Orr. "The introduction of this new fibre optic
network allows our residents greater choice today and promises exciting
new services in the future."
At a celebratory event today to promote the launch of the new network in
the community, a Minnedosa resident won a 40-inch LCD HD Samsung TV
plus six months of free MTS Ultimate TV service.
MTS is investing $125 million over several years to deploy its
fibre-to-the-home network to 120,000 homes in Manitoba. Since 2010, MTS
has launched the MTS FiONNetwork in Selkirk, Steinbach, Dauphin, Thompson, The Pas, Neepawa,
