LOUISVILLE, KY--(Marketwire - November 28, 2012) - KFC has a gift for busy families this holiday season -- the Festive Feast, an eight-piece meal accompanied by a dozen delicious chocolate chip cookies for just $19.99. "Between the planning, shopping and decorating, we know that sometimes it's hard to relax with the family and enjoy the holidays," said Jason Marker, chief marketing officer for KFC U.S. "With the introduction of Festive Feast, families can put the hectic pace aside and sit down for a fresh, delicious meal and top it off with a sweet treat."
KFC's chocolate chip cookies use fresh ingredients and are baked in store. This unique formula, just like its world famous secret recipe for fried chicken, is hidden away in the company's vault.
The chefs in the KFC test kitchen always keep an eye on culinary trends and recently noted the rush of new recipes featuring a combination of sweet and savory flavors.
The KFC team struck up a conversation with the company's 5.5 million Facebook fans, and as the keepers of both the Secret Recipe for the Colonel's fried chicken and a new recipe for chocolate chip cookies, they thought it might be a good idea to combine the two tastes into one bite.
After many hours of testing, the chefs settled on a recipe. "Move over bacon cupcakes," said Bob Das, KFC Corporate Chef. "There's a new sweet and savory treat in town. Well, at least it's available in our home town test kitchen."
Fans who want to see one on their home town menu should visit www.facebook.com/KFC to place their vote.
