HAMILTON - CHCH-TV employees recently voted in favour of merging their Union, the Canadian Association of Broadcast Employees, with the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada.
"We see this as a means of better representing our members with our employer and in the community," Tony Pooley, chair of the CABE merger committee said in a press release. "We are delighted to join with our colleagues at CanWest Gobal across the country who are already members of the CEP."
CEP is Canada's largest media union, representing 20,000 workers in the print and electronic media industry.
