MONTREAL - Cogeco Radio-Television announced this week the deployment of its repeater radio station, 98.1 FM, on Mount Orford.

In a few weeks, this repeater will allow listeners from Magog and the surrounding area to access 93.7 RYTHME FM (Sherbrooke) programming. On October 26, 98.1 began a three-week testing period of a minimum of three weeks. During this time-frame, listeners will be able to get to know the RYTHME FM sound.

The repeater license was granted by the CRTC on April 8, 2004, and Industry Canada gave Cogeco its technical consent on August 27, 2004.

"Listeners from Magog and its surrounding area will be able, in a few weeks, to listen to a radio that fulfills their demand, especially that of women aged from 25 to 54. Our repeater station will allow advertisers of the area to reach our target audience and will give them access to a media that meets a specific demand in the area," said Michel Cloutier, general manager of 93.7 RYTHME FM.

Approve none?
