TORONTO, - Rogers Media has been awarded three radio licenses from the CRTC for new FM stations in Halifax, Moncton, and Saint John.

Each station will provide comprehensive local news and information with in-depth coverage of local weather, traffic and community events. The news and information focus of each station will also be complemented by a strong emphasis on sports programming and call-in talk-show programmes.

"We are thrilled to be awarded these licences", stated Gary Miles, CEO Radio, Rogers Media. "We're happy to have been provided with the opportunity to extend our commitment to news and sports programming to local radio listeners in the Maritimes."

Rogers Media currently operates radio stations in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario, including three news-based stations in Toronto, Vancouver and Kitchener, as well as two sports-based stations in Toronto and Calgary.

The stations will be operational in 2005.
