Oshawa – Cygnal Technologies Corporation today announced the acquisition of all the shares of privately-held Saltel Electric Ltd. ("Saltel"), operating as Saltech Computer Cabling Services, specialists in the design and installation of structured cabling for a wide range of communication networks. The purchase price
was satisfied with cash.
Based in Winnipeg, Saltel has grown to become an important provider of structured cabling, wireless and network conectivity with an established and diversified customer base including IBM, the Manitoba Government, hospitals, colleges and other enterprise customers. For the 12 months ended May 31, 2001, Saltel recorded sales in excess of $1 million during such period. The entire Saltel team, headed by Ray Saltel, founder and President, will be integrated into Cygnal's data networks division.

In addition to expanding the geographic coverage of Cygnal's data networks division, this move will allow Cygnal's telecom division in the Winnipeg area to leverage Saltel's expertise.
