Cygnal acquires Saltel Electric

Oshawa Cygnal Technologies Corporation today announced the acquisition of all the shares of privately-held Saltel Electric Ltd. ("Saltel"), operating as Saltech Computer Cabling Services, specialists in the design and installation of structured cabling for a wide range of communication networks. The purchase price
was satisfied with cash.

Based in Winnipeg, Saltel has grown to become an important provider of structured cabling, wireless and network conectivity with an established and diversified customer base including IBM, the Manitoba Government, hospitals, colleges and other enterprise customers. For the 12 months ended May 31, 2001, Saltel recorded sales in excess of $1 million during such period. The entire Saltel team, headed by Ray Saltel, founder and President, will be integrated into Cygnal's data networks division.

"Ray Saltel and his team enjoy a well-deserved reputation for excellence in their field," said Jim Taylor, President of Cygnal's data networks division. "With 19 years of experience and an established customer base, this strategic acquisition immediately broadens our service offering in central Canada and builds on the Cygnal commitment to customer service."

In addition to expanding the geographic coverage of Cygnal's data networks division, this move will allow Cygnal's telecom division in the Winnipeg area to leverage Saltel's expertise. "At Cygnal, what benefits one division benefits all of us," said Dave Sherry, President of Cygnal's telecom networks division. "Saltel's addition to the Cygnal group will also augment our existing telecom operations in Winnipeg with
additional sales and technical support while offering greater potential for cross-selling of services."

"We are very excited to join forces with a leading provider of communication networks and one that shares the same dedication to quality and service as we do. Our team looks forward to new growth opportunities as part of Cygnal Technologies," said Ray Saltel, President of Saltel Electric Ltd.
