  • Commission calls for B.C. radio applications

    7/23/2004

OTTAWA - Having received license applications for a new commercial stations in Kamloops and Vancouver, B.C., the CRTC this week issued industry-wide calls for station applications in the two communities.

While the Kamloops call is pretty open, the Vancouver call is limited to "parties wishing to obtain a broadcasting licence (or licences) to provide radio programming services that clearly reflect the diversity of languages, as well as the multicultural and multi-ethnic reality of Vancouver," says the notice.

It didn't say who had submitted the applications which spurred the general call for more.
