  • CHUM adds another CH journalist

    8/31/2004

VICTORIA - Having hired away Hudson Mack from CanWest's CH Victoria, another name reporter from CH has joined the CHUM newsroom, Moira McLean.

Lisa Green, news director, Citytv Vancouver and Mack, news director, The New VI, announced yesterday that McLean will join both stations as their new legislative reporter.

In this new role, McLean will report daily from the British Columbia Legislature providing different perspectives on the impact of provincial government decisions for both stations.

"We are very fortunate to have a journalist of Moira's calibre joining our VI News team," said Mack in the press release. "Her knowledge of Vancouver Island, the people and the issues, will ensure we provide our viewers with an Island point of view from the Legislature."

Winner of several Webster, British Columbia Association of Broadcasters and Radio and Television News Director's Association awards, Moira joins Citytv and The New VI from CH in Victoria where she was both reporter and assignment editor. Previously, she worked at CFAX radio in Victoria as news director and reported for both CKNW and CKWX in Vancouver.

She also once served as press secretary for the official opposition.

"Moira brings valuable experience and a broader context to our newscast." said Green. "We look forward to providing viewers in the Lower Mainland and the province with a clear analysis of what the government's decisions mean to their lives."

McLean will start in her new role on September 20, 2024.
