CBC launches new Web site dedicated to the arts


TORONTO - today announced the launch of, Canada's new online magazine covering arts, media and entertainment news, with commentary and analysis from across the country., an entertaining, opinionated source for arts, media and entertainment news, explores the latest trends shaping music, film, TV, books, media, art and design, advertising and stage.

"Our goal for is to be Canada's one-stop destination for news, informed opinions and analysis on the latest cultural happenings in Canada and around the world," says Greig Dymond, senior producer, "We'll be covering everything from the iPod® phenomenon and Edward Burtynsky's photos, to Don McKellar's new film and Bjork's latest fashion faux pas, with a good dose of humour, originality and insight."

The staff includes award-winning writers with a wide range of cultural passions and areas of expertise; team members include veteran journalists Katrina Onstad (former lead film critic at the National Post), Andre Mayer (ex-arts editor at Shift magazine), Matthew McKinnon (former staff writer at Shift magazine), Liz Hodgson (formerly of the Vancouver Sun), Dan Brown (former arts writer at the National Post) and Jessica Wong. As well, Stephen Cole (former writer at TV Guide) will write a weekly column about trends and issues in television. will feature in-depth analysis, commentary, regular columns, quizzes, polls newsletters and photo-essays in an online magazine format.
