  • AM 640 is introducing a dynamic lineup of hosts to Toronto’s airwaves. Beginning Monday, November 7, some of the country’s brightest minds and most engaging personalities will be joined by new faces and new voices – along with regular contributions from Global News.

Kicking off the weekday schedule are Matt Gurney and Supriya Dwivedi from 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Gurney, Columnist and Editor for the National Post and Dwivedi, a regular contributor to CBC and the Toronto Sun, will push beyond the headlines, providing a mix of informed opinion and compelling analysis listeners won’t find anywhere else. They’ll also be joined daily by the charismatic Jeff McArthur, co-host of The Morning Show on Global, for candid conversation on developing stories throughout the morning.

“With three fantastic morning co-hosts and our existing all-star roster, we’re well-positioned to bring great conversation to the GTA,” said Nathan Smith, Program Director, AM 640. “Matt and Supriya are wonderful new additions that I know our listeners will really connect with.”

Longtime AM 640 morning show announcer, John Oakley, jumps into the afternoon drive slot from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. One of Toronto’s most respected and experienced broadcasters, Oakley’s articulate and thought-provoking ideas will ensure listeners are never at a loss for information or dinnertime conversation.

In addition to these changes, the inimitable Mike Stafford, known for his intelligence and quick-wit, starts his day an hour earlier in the 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. slot. Irreverent, but never irrelevant, Stafford is an information junkie with an extensive frame of reference and years of experience.

Rounding out the lineup, Tasha Kheiriddin anchors from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., followed by Kelly Cutrara from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Both have already developed strong followings in key demographics during their relatively short time with AM 640. Cutrara brings 20 years of national and international broadcasting experience to the airwaves – not to mention a razor-sharp wit, while Kheiriddin is a nationally recognized broadcaster, TV pundit and provocative columnist.

“This is the first in a series of steps towards building a truly modern, multi-platform media destination,” said Ward Smith, VP, Global News & Corus Radio, Eastern Canada. “Our station is committed to providing our audience with smart conversation, balanced debate and perspective on the stories people are talking about. Add to that, the opportunity to work with Global News assets in Toronto and across the country – we’re beyond excited.”
