Corus Announces Changes to Leadership Team

  • John Cassaday, President and Chief Executive Officer, Corus Entertainment, announced today changes to the Company’s executive leadership team that will more closely align Corus’ Television and Radio business units.

    Effective September 1, 2024, Doug Murphy, currently Executive Vice President and President, Corus Television, will be appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Corus Entertainment. Doug will assume oversight of both Radio and Television and will report to John Cassaday.

    Additional changes to John Cassaday’s executive leadership team include:

    Scott Dyer, Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning and Chief Technology Officer – Scott will have oversight of the Company’s strategic planning process, ongoing business transformations and new media strategy. He will also lead the Company’s corporate development activities and assume oversight of Kids Can Press and Toon Boom.

    Gary Maavara, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Corporate Secretary – Gary’s responsibilities include oversight of all legal matters, regulatory affairs and government relations in addition to his role of Corporate Secretary.

    Kathleen McNair, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Chief Integration Officer – Kathleen will continue to oversee the human resources and corporate communications portfolios and will lead the integration of the new services to be acquired from Bell Media, pending regulatory approval, as well as streamline internal processes.

    Tom Peddie, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer – Tom will continue to oversee the Company’s finance and accounting functions in addition to assuming responsibility for Corus’ facilities group.

    To align leadership around the Company’s distinct business units – Corus Radio, Corus Kids, Corus Women and Family, Corus Content Distribution and Pay TV, Corus Airtime Sales and Corus Média – reporting to Doug Murphy will be:

    Chris Pandoff, President of Radio

    Colin Bohm, Vice President, Television, Head of Corus Kids

    John MacDonald, Vice President, Television, Head of Corus Women and Family

    Maria Hale, Vice President, Television, Head of Corus Content Distribution and Pay TV

    Susan Schaefer, Vice President, Head of Brands, Television and Radio

    Gerry Mackrell, Vice President, Television, Head of Airtime Sales

    Bill Knight, Vice President, Television, Head of Business Development and Planning

    Helen Lebeau, Vice President, Television, Production and Broadcast Operations

    Mario Cecchini, Head of Eastern Ontario and President, Corus Média
