  • Corus Radio Winnipeg’s Power 97 is excited to launch its new morning show featuring Cam Carson and TJ Connors, starting Monday, January 7, 2024.

The show marks a return home to Winnipeg for TJ Connors who has entertained radio audiences at Kelowna’s 103.9 The Juice as the station’s program director and morning show host. Prior to that, his creativity and passion for radio was heard at Corus Radio Peterborough’s THE WOLF 101.5 as morning show host for over two years. TJ grew up in Winnipeg and will be coming home to his roots as part of the Power 97 team.

“Working at the radio station I grew up listening to means a lot to me,” said TJ Connors. “It is difficult to explain how it feels to be back in my hometown working the morning drive at a legendary station like Power 97.”

TJ will be joined by Power 97’s Cam Carson who is host of the station’s The Morning Power Drive. Prior to joining Power 97, Cam was at Edmonton’s Best Rock 100.3 The Bear for five years and was rated one of the city’s best radio personalities by listeners.

“I know a lot of people loathe their alarm clocks but I have been lovin’ getting up in the mornings again with Winnipeggers and couldn’t wait to hashtag the words ‘Can’t Wait’ when I heard I would be working with TJ Connors,” said Cam Carson.

Power 97 brand director, Matt Cundill, headed up the selection process with the goal of getting the most creative talent on air for the new morning show. “Radio is an important part of people’s lives and this radio show is going to change morning drive and become the listener choice in Winnipeg.”

“We are thrilled to have TJ join Cam on our new morning show at Power 97,” said Steve Dubois, Sales Manager, Corus Radio Winnipeg. “Humorous, intelligent and engaging, Cam and TJ will be a positive addition to the team and will provide Winnipeg listeners with an entertaining rock morning show that is sure to become one of the city’s best radio morning shows.”
