  • CTV Winnipeg announces CTV Morning Live every weekday morning starting Monday, September 26 at 6 a.m. Joining previously announced co-anchors Eleanor Coopsammy and Kris Laudien, Terri Apostle and Kristin Hursh are the newest additions to the morning show lineup, broadcasting live from CTV Winnipeg’s studios with everything viewers need in the morning. CTV Winnipeg also announced today Rachel Lagace and Jesse Carlson will round out the new morning team, reporting from the field.

CTV MORNING LIVE provides Winnipeggers with the option of receiving live local morning news in addition to the national perspective provided by CANADA AM, which will continue to be available live in Winnipeg on CTV News Channel and now on demand at canadaam.ctv.ca.

With an aim to be engaging and useful to local viewers, CTV Morning Live provides a mix of breaking local news, weather and traffic in a friendly, fun and fast-paced format, helping Winnipegers kick-start the day.

“Eleanor and Kris have amazing chemistry, and the addition of Terri, Kristin, Rachel and Jesse to CTV Morning Live rounds out the morning team perfectly,” said Karen Mitchell, News Director, CTV Winnipeg. “The combination of breaking news, weather and traffic will accommodate the busy lives of our viewers, and with our strong social media presence, we hope to incorporate our viewers into the daily on-air dialogue.”

As co-anchors of CTV Morning Live, Coopsammy and Laudien are charged to wake up with Winnipeg each weekday. Coopsammy has been with CTV Winnipeg for more than 10 years, most recently as the station’s consumer reporter and is very active within the community. Laudien is no stranger to morning television, getting his start with Citytv. He has since covered and anchored everything from local entertainment and federal politics to the Stanley Cup Finals and the Vancouver 2024 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and Edmonton for different networks.

Coopsammy and Laudien are joined on CTV Morning Live by Weather and Traffic Specialist Terri Apostle, keeping viewers up-to-date with local weather and traffic forecasts, with Kristin Hursh bringing to the show viewer tweets, emails and stories from the web as resident Web Journalist. A born and raised prairie girl who proudly calls Winnipeg home, Apostle has worked as a morning show host in both television and radio. Web expert Hursh joins following a stint with Citytv Calgary’s Breakfast Television, and is delighted to be a part of the Winnipeg community, where she has strong family ties.

Joining the studio team from the field are Rachel Lagace, with the latest news and happenings across the city from different locations and events; and Jesse Carlson with live traffic reports from Winnipeg streets each morning. Born and raised in LaSalle, Manitoba, Lagace began reporting for CTV News in 2024. Winnipeg native Jesse Carlson moves from his post as Sports Anchor and Reporter for CTV Saskatoon.
