  • Global Edmonton is proud to announce that its longtime leader, mentor and employee Tim Spelliscy will be receiving the 2024 RTNDA Lifetime Achievement Award for the Prairie Region. Tim will receive his award on Saturday, April 9th during the RTNDA Prairie Regional Awards Banquet in Saskatoon.

The Award came as no surprise to anyone at Global Edmonton. “It’s hard to imagine a Global Edmonton without a Tim Spelliscy,” commented says Troy Reeb, Vice President, Global News. “The Global Edmonton news department was built virtually on his shoulders. His foresight, determination and creative energy are the reasons that Global maintains a leadership position in Edmonton. We are deeply proud and appreciative of everything that Tim has done for both the station and for the local community.”

Tim Spelliscy is definitely a man who has dedicated his life to broadcasting. His career has taken him from small town radio to national television – from writing and announcing to the “voice of the Oilers” to station management. Tim is best known for leading ITV News, now Global Edmonton, to prominence as “Edmonton’s News”.
