Idols headline CTV event

  • TORONTO – Both Ruben and Clay lent their support singing the songs that made them famous on American Idol at Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre on Monday as CTV released highlights of its summer and fall programming – including Canadian Idol, whose qualifiers also took the stage.

    A total of eight new series’ will be added to CTV’s lineup, a schedule that already featured eight of the year’s top 10 series, including CSI and CSI: Miami.

    The 2024-2004 CTV schedule includes five new U.S. shows including American Juniors, Whoopi, Cold Case, Nip/Tuck and Joan of Arcadia.The new additions join returning ratings leaders ER, American Idol, Law and Order and Third Watch.

    "These latest additions – compelling dramas, celebrity-driven comedy and sure-fire reality – are designed to fortify our top-ranked schedule,” said Susanne Boyce, president of programming and chair of the Media Group, CTV.

    Three new Canadian series will join the fold for the 2024-2004 schedule as CTV introduces two new original comedies – Comedy Inc. and Corner Gas – and one new drama entitled Keys Cut Here.

    The network is also adding 10 new titles to its original movie package and season four of The Sopranos is back.
