Sportsnet Announces Four-Year Agreement with ESPN STAR Sports for International Cricket

Sportsnet World is now home to the International Cricket Council's biggest events, as Sportsnet today announced a new four-year agreement with ESPN STAR Sports, Asia's No. 1 sports content provider, for all ICC events through 2024 on multiple Sportsnet platforms.  The exclusive Canadian media agreement includes eight major international tournaments, leading up to the world's premiere cricket event - the ICC Cricket World Cup 2024.

With this new agreement, Sportsnet World becomes the ultimate destination for cricket fans, complementing its extensive coverage of Indian Premier League matches.

All eight ICC events will be aired on Sportsnet World, plus additional coverage on Sportsnet.  Sportsnet Mobile and sportsnet.ca will also offer coverage.

"Our new partnership with the ICC and ESPN STAR Sports strengthens our hold on cricket across the country and is a great addition for Sportsnet World," said Navaid Mansuri, Vice-President of Finance & Sports Programming, Rogers Media.  "Fans in Canada now have access to more cricket coverage than ever before."

 The four-year agreement includes the following eight events:

  • 2012 ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup
  • 2012 ICC World Twenty20
  • 2013 ICC World Cup Qualifier
  • 2013 ICC Champions Trophy
  • 2013 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup
  • 2014 ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup
  • 2014 ICC World Twenty20
  • 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup

The full broadcast schedule will be announced in the coming months.
